Schema Valley Consulting

Craft-led programming consulting for relational database design, index strategy, and query optimization—scoped project by project from our Chatuchak office.

Where slow queries usually hide

We review execution plans, missing indexes, and cardinality estimates that turn simple SELECT statements into table scans. Engagements start with your staging schema, representative workloads, and the business questions the database must answer under load.

Schema Valley Consulting does not sell subscription tiers or canned “performance packs.” Each assignment is a defined slice of design review, profiling, or implementation support with fees agreed before work begins.

Typical deliverables

  • Normalized or denormalized models with migration notes
  • Index and partitioning recommendations tied to real queries
  • Rewritten SQL or ORM patterns with measured before/after notes

Craft at three scales

Database work spans whiteboard sketches, application code, and rack-level infrastructure. These scenes mirror how we move from intent to measurable query behavior.

Organized network server cables for efficient data management
Physical layout informs backup, replication, and latency assumptions.
Keyboard and smartphones on a wooden desk
Application teams ship the queries we tune.
Desk workspace with paper notes and writing tools, colorful pens and sticky notes on a notebook
Early diagrams keep migrations aligned with reporting needs.
“A schema is a craft object: every foreign key, partial index, and isolation level choice should be traceable to a workload you can name.”

Who this is for

Product teams running PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server who need an independent review before a major release, merger data cutover, or reporting rebuild.

Who we are not

We are not a managed hosting provider, a license reseller, or a 24/7 DBA desk. If you need always-on operations, we can help you brief vendors—but our work stays focused on design and query behavior.

Questions teams ask before booking

Do you remote in?

Yes. Most profiling uses read-only access to staging; on-site workshops in Bangkok are available when you need whiteboard time with DBAs and backend engineers together.

Which engines?

PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and Microsoft SQL Server are our daily tools. Other relational engines are considered case by case after we review your dialect-specific features.

How is pricing set?

We quote after a short intake call. Fixed-fee assessments, day-rate implementation support, and advisory retainers are all possible; nothing is charged until you approve a written scope.
